    • Online Obituary - LINDA ELAINE SLOANE (nee DEWBURY)
Suddenly on Monday, December 20, 2004 at her residence, Linda passed away, succumbing to cancer. Left to cherish her memory are her son Tom (Carol); daughter Elaine; daughter Patricia (Glenn); son Robert; grandchildren, Johnathan, Zack, Rebecca and Steven. She is also survived by her brothers, Tom and Ken (Valerie). She was predeceased by her father Harry; and mother Lydia.
Linda was born in Dauphin, MB on June 2, 1940. After spending her early childhood in Fork River, MB, she and her family moved to Winnipeg. She graduated from Churchill High School and went to work for the Bank of Montreal. Linda married Dave Sloane on August 5, 1961. They lived in Steinbach, Morris, Morden and finally, in Winnipeg. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, providing sumptuous meals and social occasions for her many relatives and friends. Linda retired from the bank for health reasons. She spent her time taking care of Robert and baking muffins for her grandchildren. Linda was a lovely lady with a generous heart, willing to do what she could to help out others. She loved reading, listening to music, collecting recipes and sending good (and bad) jokes via email. She will be missed by her family, relatives and friends in Winnipeg and Morden. A celebration of Linda's life will be held on Thursday, December 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to CancerCare MB, 1160 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca
