J. Thompson Allen, 89, a resident here for 25 years and a retired leather goods merchant, died yesterday morning in a local hospital. He came here from Mount Forest, Ontario, and lived at 715 Fifth Avenue North. Mr. Allen was an active member of the Lawn Bowling Club in St. Petersburg and was a member of the Episcopal Church in Ontario.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anne C. Allen, St. Petersburg; three sons, Charles E. Allen, Ottawa; Harry T. Allen. London. Ontario, and Dr. Austin G. Allen, Woodstock, Ontario; a stepson, Walter H. Braden, Pasadena, Cal.; a brother, Charles B. Allen, Tampa; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Hutchinson. Mount Forest, and Mrs. A. G. Hill, Cleveland; two nephews, Kupert Allyn and Wayne Allyn, both of St. Petersburg; two nieces, Mrs. E. E. Taylor and Mrs. Linus Walsh, both of St. Petersburg; 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Wilhelm's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
