The death of Harriet Maritta Taylor occurred after a brief illness in the Lucky Lake Hospital on August 29th, 1990, at the age of 95 years. Mrs. Taylor was bom at Carleton Place. Ontario on April 12th, 1895, to William and Maritta Dezell. She married William Milford Taylor in 1918 at her family farm home near Carleton Place, following which, she moved to her new husband's homestead in the Buffalo Basin School District. This became part of the Beechy Distnet. Here she lived for 58 years. During the past 14 years she lived with her daughter, Evelyn, in Lucky Lake. Mrs. Taylor was active in the caring concern amongst neighbors in those early days and was a friend to all in her community. She was a member of the Buffalo Basin Homemakers Club for many years and was honoured with a life membership. She always enjoyed her family and particularly family gatherings in the latter years. The family remember her as always busy in her home trying to make life more comfortable and cheerful for everyone. She spent many hours making quilts and other needlework, many of which were prize winners at the local agricultural fair, and all of which are greatly prized by her family. She was predeceased by her husband. Milford, in 1976; her son Kenneth in 1988; her mother and father; five brothers, Seeley, Melvin, William, Oliver and her twin Milton; three sisters, Alvina, Maggie and Bessie; and one granddaughter, Maria Eyoltson. She was also predeceased by one son-in-law, Roy Warren and one daughter-in-law, Delsie Taylor. She is survived by her sons, Stanley, Bordon and Keith (Eleanor) all of Beechy and four daughters, Helen (Dudley) Golden of Swift Current, Evelyn Taylor ot Lucky Lake, Maretta (Magnus) Eyolfson of Calgary and Ruth Taylor ot Swift Current; 16 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Hazel Gardiner of Carleton Place, Ontario. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 1st, 1990 at 2:00 p.m. at the Beechy United Church, Beechy, Sask., with Rev. Daryl Woods officiating. The interment will be in the Lance Valley Cemetery. Donations to the Beechy United Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements are in care of the Outlook Funeral Chapel.
