Notes - From Kenora Great War Project: - Robert signed his attestation papers in Stratford, Ontario in early November of 1914, going overseas in April of 1915 aboard the SS Grampian as a Private with the 18th Battalion. He returned to Canada aboard the Grampian in February 1919, rank of Corporal. and spent the best years of his life in schools.
- From Lois: "Dad was the baby and inherited Grandmother's long red curls." "Dad was sent to his maternal Grandparents in Mt Forest when he was 15. That would be c1910." [NOTE: In 1911 Census he is still in Dauphin, Manitoba; 1921 Census he is a lodger in the home of Bert Prizerman in Simpson Village, Wood Creek, Last Mountain, Saskatchewan]
