• Notes

  Many Brandon families, all from the same area in Co Fermanagh, came to Canada in the early 1800's. Christopher's parents (my 2xgreat grandparents), Matthew and Margaret (Loane) Brandon, immigrated c1840. Margaret died during the journey to Canada. Christopher would have been about 8 years old. In 1860, Christopher married Jane Evans in Cartwright Twp, Durham Region, Ontario. By the time the 1861 Census was taken, they were settled in Wallace Twp, Perth County, Ontario. They were still there at the time of the 1871 Census. c1878, the family moved to Ansonia, Lefroy Twp, Algoma District, Ontario. Christopher died in Bruce Mines, in 1890 after being ill for about about 3 years
