Notes - 1 Nov 1830 Deed of Lease
A memorial of an Indented Deed of Lease bearing date the first day of November one thousand eighteen hundred and thirty made between Carncross Thomas Cullen, Esquire of Fair View in the County of Leitrim of the one part and William Allan of Grange in the County of Sligo and Barony of Carberry of the other part.
Whereby the said Carncross Thomas Cullen did demise unto the said William Allan all that and those that part of the Lands of Grange aforesaid as formerly in the possession of John Waters and subsequently leased by the Rev’d Carncross Cullen deceased to William Allan and now in his actual possession together with the Customs of said Grange and the Pound in said Grange also reserving out of the said demised premises unto the said Carncross Cullen his heirs and assigns all manner of Royalties of whatever nature or kind so ever the maybe, To Have and To Hold the said demise premises unto the said William Allan his heirs and assigns from the first day of November then instant for and during the natural lives of William Allan son of lessee aged eighteen years, Irwin Gillmor Grandson to lessee aged four years and Richard Jones son of Booth Jones of Stradue County of Sligo or for and during the term or time of sixty one years whichever may last longest at and under the yearly rent of twenty four pounds Sterling payable half yearly on every first day of May and first day of November in every year during the said term which said Indenture of Lease contains the usual Covenants between Landlord and tenant for distress and ReEntry and is witnessed as to its Execution by the said Carncross Thomas Cullen and William Allan by John Nelson of Hollywell and Daniel Clancy of Hollywell in the County of Sligo, Menservants to Mr. Cullen and the Execution of this Memorial by the said William Allan is also Witnessed by the said John Nelson and Daniel Clancy
Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of us, John Nelson, David Clancy.
The above named Daniel Clancy maketh oath and saith he is a Subscribing witness to the Deed of Lease whereof the above writing is a Memorial and also to the above Memorial and saith he saw the said Deed of Lease duly signed and executed by the above named Carncross Thomas Cullen and William Allan the Executing parties thereto and saw the above Memorial duly signed and Executed by the said William Allan and Dept. saith the name Daniel Clancy subscribed as a witness to said Deed of Lease and to the above Memorial is this Depts. proper name and hand writing Daniel Clancy.
Sworn before me at Sligo this 16th day of April 1831 by virtue of a Commission to me directed for taking affidavits for his Majesties four law courts in Ireland in the County of Sligo and I know the Deponent. Montgomery Blair, Com’r & Mastr ---- -
