I wonder who will sing for me
When I'm called to cross that silent sea
Who will sing for me
From ‘Who Will Sing One Song For Me?’ – Stanley Brothers
On the 29th of June 1940, Edward Glenmore Allen married Mabel Calista Preston, thus beginning their own unique song to be sung; a song that includes ancestors that have gone before, and descendants that will follow. On this site, I am attempting to ‘sing their song’.
As all amateur genealogists know, the further back in our history we go, the harder it is to be certain that the information is 100% correct. Sometimes we are relying on official, but inaccurate documents; sometimes we are relying on family memories; sometimes we have to make judgement calls based on a combination of data, memories and common sense. I have tried to be as accurate as I can be, but caution that some information may change if/when other facts are uncovered. If you find an error, please contact me.
